From the early days, when we started operating with a small group of employees, to the present, where we have a highly skilled team and cutting-edge technologies, each step has been taken with planning and commitment. 1980
On July 15, 1980, Pérola Glassworks was founded, located in the city of Tubarão, Santa Catarina.
1996
In January 1996, it became Vipel Indústria e Comércio LTDA, with a modern manufacturing facility, supplying tempered glass to glassworks in the region.
2000
Vipel becomes the first glass processing company in the country to deliver to customers with its own fleet.
2001
In 2001, the company acquired a horizontal tempering furnace, replacing its vertical furnace, and began utilizing the most modern technology in glass tempering.
2004
In 2004, the company began the lamination process with EVA.
2005
In 2005, Vipel became the first in Brazil to manufacture Tempered Curved Glass.
2005
2005 was also the year Vipel became a pioneer by acquiring the first PVB Laminated line in the state of Santa Catarina.
2005
Also in 2005, an automated line for the production of Thermal Acoustic Glass began operations.
2009
In 2009, an investment was made for the production of screen-printed glass using mesh or rolls.
2010
April 2010, the need to organize the company’s logistics arose, and thus VIPLOG was born. It is the exclusive transportation company of the Vipel Group.
2010
In December 2010, ALUMP, a company dedicated to Aluminum Extrusion, joined the group. It began its portfolio with 250 profiles for tempered glass, furniture, industrial, automotive, and construction sectors.
2011
In early 2011, the construction sector launched the Machining department, where tools are manufactured according to customer needs.
2011
In 2011, the company integrated a second PVB line for laminated glass into its production.
2020
In 2020, the VAI E PEGA Profiles and Accessories store began operations, a company designed to further streamline the daily work of the client’s projects.

Library
Strengthening the Community
Vipel has a well-structured library that serves more than 160 company workers and over six thousand people from the community and surrounding areas of São Martinho, including approximately 2,000 students from state and municipal schools.
The vision for the future is focused on educating citizens with diverse knowledge and skills. This initiative encourages the organization’s goal of providing personal and professional learning opportunities for industry employees and the entire community involved in this context.
The space offers workers and the entire community an IT lab with nine computers, a collection of about two thousand titles, including general literature, children’s literature, comic books, as well as free services such as homework assistance, tutoring, and literacy programs for children, youth, and adults.
Environment
Care for the Planet
Also concerned about the environment, Vipel has heavily invested in a water treatment system and the separation of glass powder waste resulting from its industrial processes.
A network of pipelines distributed throughout the industrial unit carries water to the treatment facility, where waste separation occurs. This treatment process uses flocculants that cause the powder to settle, making it easier to remove and store the waste. Through this, Vipel upholds its commitment to the environment, preventing its waste from causing any harm to nature.
